Ok, so I’ve had Ooma awhile now. I should follow up on my feelings about it.
Overall, I like it and I’m still glad I switched. The most annoying aspect is that there’s a longer lag time between speaking and the person hearing you (both ways I’m guessing) when compared to Comcast or Verizon. I haven’t measured with a stop watch or anything. But, it’s very noticeable over long distance calls. I would not be surprise if it’s even worse over international calls.
That said, the voice quality is fine, and I haven’t noticed a drop in my internet bandwidth. Plus, not having the delay would not be worth the $38/month extra I was paying before I switched.
