Yup. Ted uses 1 part love, 1 part bacon, and 2 parts roofie. It’s a family recipe.

But Giles is made of awesome.

The worst thing about this episode is that if you had a craaaapy father figure, Ted can bring a whole lot of that horrible history back up. 
Ok, then I will stick with my “Giles is surrounded by a force field of awesomeness and therefore is arrow-proof” theory.

That’s a big part of what makes this show so great. It takes these heinous life experiences (hello…high school) and then makes them even worse by slapping fangs or horns on it. It’s real, but it’s not. Great TV.
The episode where Buffy gets telepathy is great for this.
