This all seems a lot more personal than what it appears on the surface. Given what we learn about Gaeta later in the series (and putting aside the afterthot nature of that revelation), it doesn’t seem completely out of the realm of possibility that Gaeta himself was included in the “hot and cold running interns” in “the dream of Gaius Baltar”.
