Best images and visual moments from BSG?

You nailed it, RSS. Then as a bit of lagniappe (as they say here in New Orleans) the follow up scene when (I’ll have the exact words wrong), back on BSG when Adama praises Tigh for bringing them all back and Tigh says words to the effect of “Not all of them”. Hogan deserved an Emmy for the Ellen denouement scenes alone.

There are so many. I’m unable to pick a ‘one’.

Doubtless the Tigh/Ellen’s death scene was one of, if not the, strongest scene from Michael Hogan of the series. And this series is chock full of incredible Michael Hogan scenes. The man should have a shelf-full of statues by this point, if there were justice.

The Galactica atmo jump. Just head-shakingly awesome, visually and viscerally. The greatest Holy Sh*t moment of the entire show.

The Pegasus rescue of Galactica’s sorryBarb scene. EJO’s proud farewell to his doomed crew grabbed you by the heart, and then boom: The Peggy rushing in, big guns blasting away, and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one jumping out of my seat with my fist in the air.

From the mini, I always refer to the Starbuck/Apollo rescue. “You are beyond insane!” shouts Apollo, as Starbuck rams his crippled Viper with her own and effects a, yes, completely insane, by the skin of their teeth rescue. It’s a scene I always go back to for it’s sheer audacity, and it kind of set the Kara/Lee dynamic for awhile.

For a quiet character scene, I’d also nominate the Roslin/Adama scene on Colonial One, as Laura advises Bill he’s now an Admiral. The scene with the kiss. Two very fine actors proving they can fill up a screen just as well as a boatload of CGI.

Man, are we lucky.

tsk tsk tsk.

So true! That man’s work on season three was simply a revelation (no pun intended). He was so robbed just because he’s on a Sci-Fi show.

Well being a Sci-Fi show certainly did not help, but perhaps (probably?) Skiffy is not adept at doing the necessary to have gotten the show sufficient notice. Although, one would think with a big network in the background…

It’s interesting to note how the writers have handled the Tigh character, given Hogan’s emergence from the shadows as a wonderful actor. Clearly, the role has become more prominent and complex (remember when Tigh was just sort of a buffoon who could not do anything right?) as a result of the writers realizing what they had in Hogan.

I also think Mary McConnell and Katee Sackhoff have been robbed (and this is not to take ANYTHING away from all of the other terrific performers and performances).
