I think that’s classic Riddler. He always believed he was too smart for his enemies, so he gave hints to level the playing field.

It’s a little disturbing that Batman essentially killed Two-Face on purpose in this film. Looking back at these older movies, I’d forgotten how comfortable these Batmen were with casual killing of the wicked.
