Babylon 5

kind of a stretch there, Londo is much politically motivated than Baltar…and in the end more heroic in my opinion.

tho the self serving part…yeah I can see that

I see what you mean, but I’m going to try and defend my comment.

Both have this drive to be the person at the top, it being emperor, president, or a messenger of GOD. Londo killed many people to get where he wanted but in the end didn’t want it. Balter would lie or say anything that would make people like him or trust him more.

Both were lovers of many women, while Londo pays for them in the beginning but soon as his power grows more women are drawn to him.

Those two are on the top of my list.

Babylon 5 is one of the few complete series I own on DVD. At its worst (most of season 5), it is worth a blind buy. At its best, it is an incredible piece of scifi, especially considering the state of technology back then. My favorite episode is “Sleeping in Light”, which never fails to make me cry like a big baby. Christopher Franke’s score in that one is almost unfair in its ability to pull on your heartstrings.

The series has better than expected replay value, too, especially seasons 1-4.
