This is a lot more sci-fi/action than horror. AVP:R is definitely horror.

Predators.
Technically, though, the Predators are aliens, and the Aliens are predators.
For the sake of ease of communication, though, the Predators are the one that use technology. The Aliens, usually known by the fandom as Xenomorphs, don’t. Since they’re both alien races, using the name “alien” isn’t really very descriptive…

As you go along with the Alien(s) movies, it becomes clear that the Xenomorphs are far more intelligent than they appear at first, particularly the Queens. They’re bright enough to be aware of technology and weapons, even if they don’t use them.
Allow me to assist in that regard.
They’re never called that in the movies, AFAIK. I think it came from the comics or the novelizations. It’s Greek, meaning “alien form”.
Who knows what trouble n00bs could get into if they’re not watched?
