I remember renting ‘Akira’ a while back and just didn’t get it. It was my first Anime film. I heard it was the best and figured I’d start there. Since then I’ve seen Miyazaki’s stuff:

My favorite story being ‘Spirited Away’. All that being said, for 1988 the artwork in Akira is amazing.
