A Streetcar Named Desire 5/18 @10ish

A little background info:

In the original play, Blanche’s deceased husband, Allen Grey, had committed suicide after he was discovered having a homosexual affair. This material was removed for the film; Blanche says only that she showed scorn towards Allen, driving him to suicide.

LOL Polish is kinda like Irish, but not.

She looks better as a monkey.

And so completely unrecognizable if you only knew him from his later work.

Irish was considered Black in the South.

Yeah. Had a conversation with someone about Brando once. They were like, “The fat guy that played the Godfather.” I just shook my head.

Ah the good ol’ days when an argument lead to a slap followed by sex.

Hello salty goodness!

Enter sweaty Brando and every 50s woman swooned.

Huh. I read the play in a literature class in college, but I don’t remember that part. Of course, it was long, long ago.

Ape! :stuck_out_tongue:

Apparently among the blind.

Not just in '50s, apparently.

And not just the women. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah I mixed them up. Well, at least the robots will get us before the Apes evolve.

So true on so many levels.

My bad. He’s a sexy beast.

He was a boxer or something at the time, right?

That kind of physique was unusual back then, unless one was an athlete or laborer.

Oh Stanley. What a putz.

“What’s your sister a deep-sea diver?”

HA!

He’s got an appraiser coming in.

He’s got a lot of acquaintances.

Yeah she’s deluded alright.

And she looks it too. Great acting.

Leigh’s personal life was just as tragic as Blanche. She suffered from mental illness, manic depression.
