They all perished (That is all The Gret Intelligences) after merging with The Doctor’s timestream. Clara would have too if The Doctor had not come in after her to rescue her. And Clara defeated or help defeat all of The Great Intelligences.
I may have to rewatch, too many paradoxes. Need to lay this out.
- I step into the Doctor’s timestream
- I emerge countless times throughout the last 1,000 years
- Each of those instances are born, live, and die
This is why I think there are countless Great Intelligences out there. Once Clara thwarts him he cries out, “Drats! Foiled again!” and then goes out to dinner.
God damn it now that creates a new exciting problem. Two people step into the timestream, one is human, the other a being who is essentially immortal. They both are born, live, one protects the Doctor and the other wants to destroy him. At some point the human Clara is going to die. All the Great Intelligence has to do is wait.
Ow. My head.
…except there’s already another Clara there to thwart him once that Clara dies.
