#242: How To Train Your Dragon, Listener Calls

I doubt it. I just ordered it and Garfield today.

The old guy in Pete’s Dragon is Mickey Rooney.

Am I late or has it been mentioned that httyd 2 is slated for a 2013 release?

Do/does the book/s continue after the movie?

There are multiple books in the Hiccup series. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but a friend has and the story in the movies is different than in the books. The only thing that is the same is the character names

Yeah, IMDB trivia says/lists some differences. Looking forward to it nonetheless.

Just saw the movie tonight (ahem, Netflix and the dreaded “Very Long Wait”), and both my partner and I loved it. There are so many great things about this film, so thanks guys for giving us the push to move it to the top of our queue (and thanks to whoever returned it so we could finally get a copy :p)

One final note: How to Train Your Dragon became my four-month-old daughter’s first movie. She loved it (though I suspect mostly because of the pretty colors).

Awight, finally saw How to Make With the Dragon Training.

If you love the Viking world and a good tale of a plucky young Norse misfit, check out Neil Gaiman’s awesome novella Odd & the Frost Giants. It’s short, but it’s swell.

Amazon has it criminally cheap, a mere $6 for the tiny hardback. So next time you’re e-shopping and you need another couple bucks to qualify for free super-saver shipping, you have an excuse.

I’ve been away for a while, but have to chime in about this fantastic film. It’s definitely one of my favorites this year, and I’ll go as far as to say that I liked it a little more than Toy Story 3, and I love that series.

I went into it thinking I would like it, find it cute, and walked out with a HUGE grin on my face. That fact that it was in 3-D only added to it. I just recently saw it again on Blu-Ray and have to say, 3-D, or not, it’s still beautiful and so well made.

I definitely am looking forward to the sequel, and hope it’s as well made as the first.

I am backing that assertion up. A wonderful short story that is one of his better books to read to your child, possibly moreso if that child is a boy.

Dreamworks put out a short that is a follow up to How To Train Your Dragon called “Leged of the BoneKnapper Dragon”!

It’s here…

Loved it.

The characters were great and the animation top-notch.

Someone knows how a cat moves.

Strange coincidence, FireBreathingChicken. Me and my wife just finished watching it less than two hours ago. She’s a really hard sell and I wasn’t even sure when it first started, but we both loved it. We recognized Jay Baruchel’s voice and Jonah Hill’s right off the bat, and we’re big fans of their comedies. Then after that, story and the animation took over. It was funny: my wife thought they were going to paint the town to look like those gold and black eels. Dragon problem solved. The real ending was a little more spectacular though.
