24-Hour A Christmas Story Frak Party!

Don’t forget to visit the museum web site (if not the museum itself) - at the house in Cleveland featured in the movie.

And if you have not read it, try to locate Jean Shepard’s short story about his family visitng the Indiana State Fair. Classic. Especially the moments in the ride we used to refer to as Salt and Pepper Shakers. You too will want to be the proud owner of a pongee shirt.

Pipe Violence!

(sans pipe)

Really? I’d actually like to see that.

Any idea where to find the story, OT? This was the only story collection I could find that mentioned “state fair” in the description.

BTW, Slate had a great article about the man himself (not sure if this is new or just recently updated):

The Man Who Told A Christmas Story

That’s the collection - Wanda Hickey’s… May have been a county fair.

I’m old enough to remember (and have listened to) his weekly radio show on Sunday nights.

Oh - and re the museum - google A Christmas Story museum - and you should get right there.

OMGs! They actually sell THE LAMP!

Party is back on! Mom of course calls and says my sister is on her way up (lives 3 hours away) and that she’ll see me tonight. Now I’m scrambling to get everything I need to take together.

Another Festivus… miracle…?

I take it this is good – if unexpected – news?

Enjoy the party!

Of course! If you sell it, they will come. A major seller! (And, if memory serves, in a smaller size as well.)

It’s good news. Though I was planning on getting in another re-watch of A Christmas Story with you all since I thought I wasn’t going anywhere.

Enjoy the movie!

Hope Santa baby has been good to you all!

I can confirm…as Santa left this in my stocking this morning. Behold!

You hung a fishnet stocking by the chimney with care, in hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there?

That’s awesome. I’m actually considering buying a couple for next year.

I missed this last year. Including all the band arrangements of Christmas music at the beginning of it!

Hey, Em! Long time, no see.

Glad you could make it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks Badger! I thought I was going to be alone here. And not even get a BB gun for Christmas :frowning:

Oh and I almost forgot: Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/any other holidays you celebrate.

Bah. You’d shoot your eye out!

Happy Newton Day!

And don’t forget Bender’s favorite winter holiday – Robonica!

Unfortunately, I don’t have control of the TV at the moment, so I’ll be blind-frakkin’ along.

Of course, I’ve only seen this movie about a hundred or so times.
