John Lithgow!! I just watched ‘The Twilight Zone: The Movie’. He was the airline passenger (William Shatner) role.
You have seen this movie before, right?
There are some differences from the book.
I could see that. Sort of.
The voice-over was a bad choice. Cheesy, feels like the original cut of Blade Runner.
Sure. That’s just it. I don’t remember the book well enough to catch the differences. I believe the book really went into the moons of Jupiter and what they find.
Ever see Third Rock from the Sun when they met the Big Giant Head? Shatner says that his flight was delayed, because there was a man on the wing. Lithgow says, “The same thing happened to me!”
Pretty common stylistic choice for sci-fi of the time, though.
The later books did. Most of the differences are subtle, except for the ending.
“You speak better than me.”
Lithgow has a great Russian accent.
That’s wonderful.
I love the coating of sulphur. Such a subtle touch, but it really adds to the realism.
Yeah. Frank Poole returns in 3001.
Wouldn’t it have made more sense to bring an atmospheric gauge with them instead of just risking one of them suffocating?
“Whenever a president is going to get us into serious trouble, he always invokes Lincoln.”
So do HAL, Bowman, and Floyd.
So this is exactly like where you work, right?
The answer is 42.
And you call yourself a scientist.
Funny. My PC just reboot for no reason. HAL is in the system.
Whoa. Look at the size of that thing. eek:
They called this monolith TMA-2, as in the second Tycho Magnetic Anomaly.
At least they got the “anomaly” part right.
What’s the matter? They didn’t bring nukes to shoot at it.
Let me know if Bowman ever appears to you.
